Safety at MoralNest
When safety and anything else pull in different directions, safety wins. This page explains what that means in practice, including what we do not promise.
Stories matched to age
Every story is marked for an age band: 3–5, 6–8, 9–12 or 13+. Each reader profile has an age band too, and the app shows stories suited to it. For younger readers, problems are everyday problems, consequences are gentle and endings are reassuring.
Stories in the catalogue
Catalogue stories are written or edited by our team. A story is published only after a reviewer approves it, and it can be paused at any time if a concern is raised.
Stories you create
Story creation uses AI, with several layers around it:
- Guided choices. You pick from options rather than writing instructions for an AI.
- Checks before writing. Anything you type is screened for unsafe requests and for personal details such as addresses, phone numbers and school names.
- Checks after writing. The finished story is checked for age suitability and unsafe content before it is shown.
- Nothing unsafe is shown or kept. If a story does not pass, you see a calm message and can try again. The rejected text is not saved.
- Private. A created story belongs to your family's library. It is not published to other families.
No automated check is perfect. If a story ever seems wrong for your child, you can report it from inside the app and our team will review it. We recommend reading created stories together with younger children.
Islamic-friendly stories
Religious content deserves a higher standard of care than ordinary fiction. In MoralNest:
- Islamic-friendly stories are fiction that reflects good character in everyday family life. They are labelled as fiction.
- Stories written with AI never quote or cite the Quran or hadith, and never attribute words to Allah, to a prophet, to a companion or to a scholar.
- Stories written with AI never portray prophets or figures from religious history, and MoralNest does not depict prophets in artwork.
- MoralNest does not give religious rulings and is not a substitute for a qualified scholar.
- Stories do not use fear, punishment or guilt to motivate young children, and do not speak ill of other people's beliefs.
If you request a story that would need scripture, prophetic history or a ruling, MoralNest will decline and suggest a values-based story instead.
Children's information
- Child profiles belong to a parent's or guardian's account. Children do not have accounts of their own.
- A profile needs only a nickname and an age band. We do not ask for a date of birth, a surname, a school or a photo.
- The app asks you not to enter personal details when creating a story, and screens for them.
- There is no chat, no public profile and no way for users to contact one another.
The privacy page describes the information MoralNest handles in more detail.
Calm by design
MoralNest has no streaks, points or countdowns aimed at children, and no advertising inside stories. Subscription choices are shown to the adult, plainly, and never before you have been able to try the app.
Report a concern
You can report any story from within the app. For anything else, see Support.
